SSsc - standing stitch single crochet**

Make 10 pieces of the No 4 flower for “Keep on Blooming!" – Flower blanket CAL.

Note. If you are using the Beige - Blue yarn-kit, make 6 pieces of the No 4 flower.

You can crochet this block using almost any kind of yarn, but I recommend yarns with a hook recommendation of 3.0 - 4.5 mm.

 

Cut yarn and secure ends when changing yarn color.

Make a Magic Ring and crochet Rnd 1 sts into it.

Rnd 1

Mustard  

Ch 3 (counts as dc), 11 dc.

Join to the 3rd ch with slst, tighten the ring by pulling the starting tail of the yarn. Cut yarn and secure ends.

Rnd 2

Brick Red  

SSdc into any dc of previous round, 4 dcs in the same st, remove hook from loop of dc, insert the hook in the top loop of the first dc and pick up the working loop again, pull through the stitch [= SSpc. Pc = 5dc, same as SSpc), (ch 3, sk dc, pc) 5 times, ch 3. Join to the 1st pc with slst. Cut yarn and secure ends.  

[6 x pc, 6 x ch3-sp]

Rnd 3

Off White 

SSFPsc around any pc of previous rnd, *(2 dc, 4 tr, 2 dc) into ch3-sp, FPsc around pc.* 6 times. Omit last FPsc. Join to the 1st FPsc with slst. Cut yarn and secure ends.  

[(FPsc, 4 dc, 4 tr) 6 times]

Rnd 4

Mustard

SSFPsc around 1st FPsc of previous rnd, (8 BPsc, FPsc) 6 times. Omit last FPsc. Join to the 1st FPsc with slst. Cut yarn and secure ends.  

[(8 BPsc, FPsc) 6 times]

Rnd 5

Light Brown 

Note: work sts behind the petals into rnd 1.

SStr into any free st of Rnd 1 (see red arrow in photo).

(Ch 5, tr into next free st of Rnd 1) 5 times, Ch 5.

Join to the 1st tr with slst.

Do not cut the yarn.

Rnd 6

Light Brown 

Ch 1 (counts as sc),

*2 dc, 2 tr, ch 2, 2 tr, 2 dc) into ch5-sp, sc into tr.* 6 times. Omit last sc. Join to the 1st sc with slst. Cut yarn and secure ends.  

[(4 dc, 4tr, ch2-sp, sc) 6 times]

Rnd 7

Orange 

(SShdc, ch 2, hdc) into corner ch2-sp),

* 4 BPhdc, hdc into both the 4th st of the Rnd 4 and next sc of the previous rnd. 4 BPhdc, (hdc, ch 2, hdc) into corner ch2-sp.* 6 times. Omit last (hdc, ch 2, hdc).

Join to the 1st hdc with slst. Cut yarn and secure ends.  

[(3 hdc, 8 BPhdc, ch2-sp) 6 times)]

Rnd 8

Off White 

SSsc into 2nd st after corner ch2-sp (this is 1st BPhdc on the side).

* Sk 2 sts, (puff into next st, ch 2) 2 times, puff into next st, sk 2 sts, sc, ch 4, sk (hdc, ch2-sp, hdc), sc into next st.* 6 times. Omit last sc. Join to the 1st sc with slst. Cut yarn and secure ends.  

[(2 sc, 3 x puff, 2 x ch2-sp, ch4-sp 6 times]

Rnd 9

Yellow 

SShdc into 1st sc before puff st in previous rnd,

*(FPhdc into puff, 2 hdc into ch2-sp) 2 times, FPhdc into puff, hdc into sc, 4 dc around ch-sps of Rnds 7 and 8, hdc into sc.* 6 times. Omit last hdc. Join to the 1st hdc with slst. Cut yarn and secure ends.  

[(4 dc, 3 FPhdc, 6 hdc) 6 times]

Rnd 10

Light Brown 

SSBPhdc into corner 3rd dc of corner 4dc group, BPhdc into next 5 sts, 2 BPhdc into next st, BPhdc into next 6 sts, ch 3,

(BPhdc into next 6 sts, 2 BPhdc into next st, BPhdc into next 6 sts, ch 3.* 5 times. Join to the 1st BPhdc with slst. Cut yarn and secure ends.  

[(14 BPhdc, ch3-sp) 6 times]

Rnd 11

Mustard 

(SSdc, ch 2, dc) into corner ch3-sp,

*(ch 1, sk BPhdc, dc) 7 times, ch 1, (dc, ch 2, dc) into corner ch3-sp.* 6 times. Omit last (dc, ch 2, dc). Join to the 1st dc with slst. Cut yarn and secure ends.  

[(9 dc, 8 x ch1, ch2-sp) 6 times]

Rnd 12

Beige

Note: work tr in front of ch1-sp of previous rnd. 

(SSsc, ch 1, sc) into corner ch2-sp,

*(FPsc around next st, tr into next free st of rnd 10) 7 times, FPsc around next st, tr into ch2-sp of rnd 10 before 1st dc made into corner, FPsc around next st, (sc, ch 1, sc) in corner ch2-sp* 6 times. Omit last (sc, ch 1, sc). Join to the 1st sc with slst. Do not cut the yarn. 

[(2 sc, ch1-sp, 8 tr, 9 FPsc) 6 times]

Rnd 13

Beige 

Slst into corner ch1-sp. Ch 5 (counts as dc + ch2-sp), dc into same ch2-sp,

*ch 1, sk sc (1st sc is a bit hidden), (dc in next st, ch 1, sk 1 st) 9 times. (Dc, ch 2, dc) into corner ch1-sp* 5 times. Ch 1, sk sc, (dc, ch 1, sk 1 st) 9 times, ch 1. Join to the 3rd ch with slst.

Cut yarn and secure ends. 

[(11 dc, 10 x ch1-sp, ch2-sp) 6 times]

Fasten off and secure ends, if you choose to block the hexagon, wet and let dry.
